Project Spotlight: Power Plant Facility Painting

Gemstone Industrial Services recently completed a facility painting project within a power plant

environment, where precision, durability, and safety are essential. Led by Supervisor Sai

Pecina, the project highlights Gemstone’s commitment to proper surface preparation, proven

coating systems, and high-quality execution in demanding industrial settings.

Thorough Surface Preparation

The project began with comprehensive pressure washing to remove dirt, debris, and

contaminants from the building exterior. Sai and his team then repaired cracks and holes

throughout the structure, ensuring all surfaces were sound and ready to accept coatings. This

preparation phase was critical to achieving long-lasting adhesion and performance.

Trusted Coating Systems

For this project, Gemstone utilized Sherwin-Williams coatings selected for durability and

performance. The team applied Loxon Concrete Sealer and Primer to properly seal the

concrete substrate, followed by Duration Exterior Acrylic Latex as the topcoat. Together, this

system delivers strong adhesion, weather resistance, and a clean, professional finish suitable

for power plant facilities.

Executing Work in a High-Risk Environment

Working in a power plant requires heightened awareness and strict safety controls. Under Sai’s

supervision, the crew maintained organized workflows and adhered to all safety protocols while

completing the work efficiently and effectively. The result was a project completed with quality

craftsmanship and a strong focus on doing the job right.

Built for Long-Term Performance

This project reflects Gemstone’s approach to industrial painting—combining proper preparation,

proven materials, and experienced supervision to deliver durable results. By using the right

systems and executing each step with care, Gemstone continues to support critical

infrastructure with coatings built to perform.
